From new product launches to major platform upgrades, 2024 was a year full of innovation at Joyride. We raised a $5.2 million Series A, led by Yamaha Motors, exhibited at key conferences across Europe and North America, launched our first in-house label for golf carts and minicars, and continued to empower mobility businesses and OEMs with the software they need to manage the smartest vehicles on the ground (and in the cloud!)
What does looking in the rear-view mirror tell us about where things are going next? Keep reading for connected mobility highlights, as well as big moves in store for 2025.
Joyride offers the broadest support of mobility vehicles since 2014
The shared mobility landscape of 2024 saw both consolidation and growth, with new companies, technologies and operating models taking the lead.
Experts at McKinsey project the U.S. shared micromobility to soar to 400 million trips by 2030–and even reach 540 million trips by 2035. Terms like Vehicle-as-a-Service (VaaS) and software-defined vehicles went from buzzwords to everyday realities, setting the stage for a new era in transportation.
In an industry that spans everything from scooters and bikes to cargo vehicles and minicars, the connected vehicle landscape can be diverse and sometimes complex. However, fleet operators who are thriving today share one key trait: they’ve embraced a broader vision of urban mobility—one that is multi-modal and complementary to other transportation options.
In 2024, this shift was reflected in Joyride’s expanding customer portfolio, as we continued to support operators across a wide range of emerging electric vehicle rental models.
A few of the highlights:
- The first electric cargo bikeshare launched in the U.S.
- 2024 saw the first on-demand rental platform for seated mobility scooters at shopping malls
- Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) partnered with Joyride in the last-mile delivery space to connect and protect delivery vehicles
- Joyride Garage enabled fleet owners to get vehicles faster and for less
- We supplied mission critical software to private and public micromobility fleets around the world, including Scooty, Moovr and GOAT
Feature-rich, future-focused connected vehicle software
As the leading software provider for hundreds of fleets, Joyride’s mission for 2024 was clear: make it faster, smarter and easier for operators to keep vehicles and profits in check.
Overall, the Joyride platform delivered an impressive 99.9% uptime in 2024, a standard of reliability called “three nines,” which is vital to keeping vehicles connected and ensuring a seamless rental process.
For smoother rider experiences, we introduced features like Wallet Top-Up Bonuses, rewarding users for preloading funds, and Designated Parking to solve parking challenges. Beginner Mode helps new riders get comfortable with vehicles before unlocking full speeds, and Grace Period ensures they aren’t unfairly charged for trips under a certain duration.
Our Ride Pass feature took the spotlight in 2024 due to its ability to address key challenges in the shared mobility market–both for the operator and end-user. Operators like YoGo Bikeshare, leveraged Ride Pass to achieve phenomenal ride metrics and customer loyalty through flexible pricing.
To further improve the operator experience, we added capabilities such as Virtual Vehicles for testing, Internal Fleets for payment-free use cases, and Long-Term Rentals for fleet owners looking to diversify their revenue streams.
We partnered with Lanterne, an operations productivity platform, to lighten the load using AI and teamed up with velofix, a mobile bike shop and on-call maintenance service, to bring expert repair and support services directly to fleet owners across North America.
We also unveiled a smarter, speedier, mobile-responsive dashboard with standout features such as Advanced Analytics and Payment Analytics, designed to give operators deeper insights into their fleets with just a few clicks.
And that’s not all. While we delivered high-value platform upgrades throughout the year, our team was hard at work behind the scenes, preparing for the next big release…
Revii rolls into the minimobility market

Joyride powers up with a proprietary IoT device
Of course, what is a fleet without vehicles? 2024 was the year we took compatibility to the next level. Joyride now supports more than 40 vehicle models from 23 different manufacturers, giving operators the flexibility to operate multi-modal business models across any imaginable market segment.
While Revii took the spotlight as a front-facing rental solution, the technology behind the scenes deserves its own recognition. Here’s a sneak peek at an exciting announcement coming in 2025
