A few months ago, we published a post about why golf cart fleet insurance is one of the biggest hurdles operators face when trying to build a rental business. The response told us everything we needed to know: the post resonated because the problem is real, it’s widespread and, until now, nobody had properly solved it.
Today, we’re following that post up with a real solution.
Joyride has officially partnered with vQuip, a specialty insurance agency backed by Bluefields MGA. This partnership gives Joyride operators direct access to the Adventure Shield insurance program that’s purpose-built for motorized rental and tour operations. Backed by A-rated carrier Lloyd’s of London and activated in conjunction with micromobility experts the Christensen Group, Joyride customers can be quoted by experts who actually understand what it means to run a golf cart or LSV rental fleet.
With Joyride and vQuip, premium reductions can be applied up to 30% less than the industry norm.

Why this partnership is a big deal for low-speed vehicles and golf carts
Insurance is an equally boring and omnipresent topic in the shared mobility space. Talk to any operator who has tried to scale a golf cart rental program and you’ll hear the same story: the platform works, the vehicles are ready, the demand is there and then the insurance piece stalls everything.
Standard commercial policies weren’t written for this use case. They exclude low-speed vehicles, misclassify rental operations or leave gaps in coverage that only become visible after a claim. The insurance industry has been slow to catch up with a market that’s growing at pace. For example, the US golf cart and LSV market is projected to hit a combined $14 billion in 2026, and demand for rental programs across resorts, campgrounds, hotels and campuses is skyrocketing.
The fragmentation is an industry-wide acknowledgement at this point. Even the Low Speed Vehicle Dealer Association (LSVDA) has flagged it publicly, noting that as the market expands, the complexity of risk has increased significantly and traditional markets have not been able to keep up.
The Joyride + vQuip partnership is a direct answer to that gap.
What is the Adventure Shield program?
Adventure Shield is vQuip’s specialty insurance program, developed specifically for motorized rental and tour operations, including golf carts, e-bikes and LSVs. It’s not a standard policy with golf cart clauses bolted on. It’s written from the ground up for this industry.
This isn’t a generic commercial auto policy repurposed for golf carts. Adventure Shield is built for motorized rental and tour operations by underwriters who specialize in this space.
Here’s what’s included:
- Commercial General Liability: $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate
- Renters Insurance: state minimum included, with higher options available
- Blanket Accident: $25K Accident Medical / $10K AD&D, with up to $50K available
- Property coverage: up to $5M
- Access to Excess Liability: up to $5M
Every policy also includes a dedicated underwriter, loss control consultation from day one, incident triage support and prescriptive tools designed to earn renewal credits over time.
Why the Renters Insurance piece matters
One of the most important elements of Adventure Shield is something operators often don’t know to ask for: renters insurance coverage via business auto. This separates participant claims from your commercial GL policy, which means a renter incident doesn’t contaminate your general liability history or drive up your premiums. It’s how well-structured rental operations are supposed to be insured, and it’s been almost impossible to find in a standard policy.
Why connected fleets change the insurance equation
With real-time telematics, driver verification, geofencing and full trip history, Joyride’s platform creates a level of operational transparency that most fleet operators have never been able to offer an insurer before.
Over the course of this partnership, Joyride and vQuip intend to build a meaningful record of rider usage and fleet performance data. The aspiration is to eventually offer usage-based insurance models that reward safe, well-managed fleets with more competitive pricing. The infrastructure exists to make it possible on the Joyride side, which is not something any generic commercial auto policy can currently offer.
