Joyride integrates with Bosch Connected Biking to power e-bike rentals and shared mobility

Bosch’s Connected Biking Platform taps into Joyride for access to fleet management, rental and AI-powered mobility software, effectively creating a full e-bike software ecosystem.

As connectivity becomes essential to track vehicles, manage usage and automate operations, Joyride and global manufacturer Bosch are working together to enable e-bikes to be instantly trackable, rentable and operational at scale.

The partnership means that Bosch-powered e-bikes are integrated with Joyride’s full suite of mobility software solutions right out of the box. Connectivity to Joyride makes Bosch e-bikes instantly synced with vehicle rental apps, fleet management analytics, precise GPS and geofencing, AI-powered operational tools and digital payment transactions.

“Our hardware partners immediately see the value in vehicle automation, from crucial insights and safeguarding assets to improving the overall rider experience,” said Vince Cifani, Joyride Founder and CEO. “We’re excited to announce our integration with Bosch as we continue to build evergreen relationships with leading global manufacturers.”

By connecting to Joyride’s cloud-based platform, vehicle operators and managers who are using Bosch-powered e-bikes will have access to Joyride-integrated data on condition, configuration, battery health, usage patterns and placement, thereby extending the lifespan of the vehicle and ensuring future remarketing opportunities.

“Our Connected Biking Platform is becoming a central component of the digital ecosystem surrounding the eBike. We are creating opportunities for industry players to develop their own digital offerings. The first partners are already connected and are shaping connected eBike mobility together with us,” said Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems.

Use cases for connected Bosch-powered e-bikes include vehicle rentals at resorts, campuses and municipal settings. Dealers, meanwhile, benefit from the option of being able to organize their own rental or test fleets using data-backed insights and logistics tools. For example, precise GPS location tracking makes management more efficient and also increases theft protection.

Fleet operators can also manage their e-bikes more efficiently and minimize breakdowns, leasing providers can transparently track the value retention of their models, and insurance companies can minimize damage risks. The result is more reliable sharing services, transparent leasing conditions and much more comprehensible insurance rates.

“We’re allowing fleet and rental providers to manage their vehicles through a singular subscription model without them needing to invest in their own solution,” Cifani added.

“It puts time back into their pockets to focus on growing their fleets and managing their business while Bosch and Joyride do the rest of the heavy lifting, in tandem with each other.”

Why connectivity is the next phase of e-bike growth

The Bosch e-bike software announcement comes as the global e-bike market is projected to grow from $69.7 billion in 2025 to over $140 billion by 2033, reflecting rapid adoption across both consumer and commercial use cases.

More than 46% of new e-bikes now include GPS, app connectivity or digital dashboards. The shift is mirroring what happened with smartphones and cars, showing that connected e-bikes are quickly the default, not the exception.

At this scale, traditional and manual approaches to managing vehicles (keys, paper logs, in-person rentals) simply aren’t sustainable. Operators need systems that allow them to track vehicles in real time, monitor usage and performance and manage access remotely. Connectivity transforms e-bikes from standalone assets into digitally managed fleets.

Shared mobility and bike-sharing platforms are also significantly increasing e-bike usage in cities worldwide, with fleets integrated into apps, payments and GPS systems. People are no longer just buying e-bikes, they’re accessing them on demand.

As e-bikes evolve from standalone products into connected mobility networks, the next phase of growth won’t be driven by hardware alone, it will be powered by software, automation and real-time data.
