COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Fleet Management Backend Services

Joyride provides software applications, including a web-based platform, that enables companies (our “Customers”) to provide access to, monitor and otherwise manage their low-speed vehicle fleets (“Fleet Management Services”).

When providing the Fleet Management Services, Joyride collects and uses personal information on behalf of our Customers. Should you have any questions about the processing of your personal information by one of our Customers, we encourage you to review the Customer’s privacy policy explaining how they process your personal information or reach out to them directly. Our Customers are responsible for providing all required notices, obtaining all necessary consents and otherwise complying with applicable privacy laws with respect to the collection, transfer and use of personal information by us in order to provide the Fleet Management Services to them.

We provide our Customers with a Rider App that their riders can use to reserve one of the Customer’s vehicles. We collect and use the following information in connection with Rider Apps:

  • Account Creation and Use: When a rider creates an account and/or uses a Rider App, we collect personal information such as name, email address, password, telephone number and may collect employee identification number. The rider may also be able to upload a picture for their profile, on an optional basis and the photo will be viewable by other users of the Rider App. We collect this information for the purposes of creating and administering the rider’s account, grant access to vehicles, and enable our Customers to monitor the use and performance of their fleet. In order to rent a vehicle, the rider must first scan the vehicle’s QR code. We may request access to the camera feature on the rider’s app in order to scan the QR code. This permission can be turned off at any time within the settings of the mobile device in the Rider App.
  • Identification Verification: Where required by our Customers, a rider may be required to verify their identity by providing a photo of their government-issued identification (driver’s license, passport, or government-issued photo identification card) and a real-time selfie photo. We use a third-party service provider who matches the photo on the identification card to the selfie that is uploaded and validates the authenticity of the selfie and identification card provided. Our third-party service provider is not authorized to use or retain this information for any other purpose. You may be required to provide the Rider App with access to your camera in order to upload a photo of your ID card and selfie.
  • Vehicle Location Monitoring: The Rider App may collect and use information about the vehicle’s precise geolocation to ensure that vehicles do not leave the location parameters set by our Customers, enforce the Customers terms, and to ensure the safety of our Customers’ assets.
  • Mobile App Location Information: The Rider App may include location-based services, such as the ability to find nearby vehicles. If a rider provides consent, the Rider App will access and collect the rider’s mobile device GPS coordinates in order to provide these services. Location tracking can be turned off any time within the settings of the mobile device.  Opting out of location information may result in certain features of a Rider App being unavailable.
  • Payment: We (or our authorized third-party payment processors) may collect certain information, including first and last name, email address, phone number, and payment information (including billing address, credit card number, expiration and CVV code) to process payments on behalf of our Customers.

  • Photos: Riders can send us photos during interactions with our customer support team, which we use to resolve customer support queries such as to verify ride completion, to ensure the safety and proper use of vehicles. In addition, at the end of each ride, riders are required to upload a photo of the vehicle’s parking place.
  • App Usage Information & Analytics: As with many applications, certain limited data is required for an app to function on your device. This data includes the type of device hardware and operating system, unique device identifier, IP address, language settings, and the date and time the app access our servers. We use this information to help us understand the activity on the app, to monitor and improve the app, and to tailor your in-app experience. In addition, we may use third-party service providers to collect analytical information about your use of the app, such as the app features used and time spent on the app, to help us tailor your in-app experience, improve our products and the quality of our app, and to manage and analyze data in order to better understand our users. We may also generate aggregated, non-identifiable data and use such information to monitor the performance, use and stability of our apps and services and to improve our apps and services.
  • Push Notifications: With consent, we may display push notifications on a rider’s mobile device that include rental expiry information, special offers and promotions and information about new app features. Push notifications can be turned off or adjusted any time in the settings of the rider’s mobile device.
